Roland Starkie Tournament – May Bank Holiday
The annual Roland Starkie tournament took place as usual on the May Bank Holiday, with eight teams competing under sunny skies. Representing a mix of local talent, the teams included two from Courtfield, alongside entries from Subscription, Maryport, Caldbeck, Whitehaven, Dalston, and Silloth.
It was a competitive day of bowling, with excellent performances across the board. The trio of Tom, Ricky, and Jonny from Subscription emerged as worthy winners. Also qualifying were Mike, Ronnie, and David from Caldbeck, who secured their place after a closely contested final game against Courtfield B, who still had a slim chance of qualifying at that point.
I would like to thank Angela C, Angela P, Evelyn, Jean and Margaret for their excellent two course lunch. Great stuff Ladies!
Plenty of exciting matches still to come as teams battle for position!
